It's pretty cold in Austin this morning (22 F) but we have a different kind of snow - it's called cedar. On Sunday I was !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! about my clean car; now it is covered in a disgusting blanket of pollen / tree sperm. My head is aching and I can barely think.

Well, that explains why I feel like I have concrete in my nose this morning. I hadn't yet looked at the numbers, but my nose tells me all I need to know. In the last few years, I've had to go get the allergy steroid shot. It works wonders.

I've never had the shot before, but yesterday I was really miserable. I feel it more in my temples / brain than my nose.

'Tis the season. I hate January in Austin. Thankfully I was smart enough to have started the allergy pill regime around Thanksgiving, so I haven't been super affected (knock on wood).

Get the shot. It's amazing. And it will last throughout Cedar Season™.

Going back to work after Christmas / New Years holidays is hard enough. This is like a productivity sucker-punch.

No shit. I've been dreading it in advance for the past two months. HEB's allergy meds have been pretty decent for me, though I'm still sitting here with itchy eyes and buried in work.

I can't even function in Austin without taking allergy meds every day. It's sad.

I've been thinking of buying an older Miata lately. Can someone explain why I want a convertible car in the allergy capital of the universe?

I had a NA Miata the first few years I lived here, but that was before I started becoming sensitive to the allergies. This time of year I am afraid to even open my windows or sunroof. Maybe you can drive while wearing a HEPA filter.

I don't put the top on my Jeep because Austin is so nice and I park it in the garage every night. I wanted to drive it to this weekend's C&C but am reconsidering because of the yellow/red haze that attacks my sinuses every time I step outside. Never considered the allergy booster shot until this year. Really need it now.

The weather has been okay, but after only a few days of being parked outside at work (I park inside garage at night) my car has gotten quite a dusting. That is what we are all breathing.

Haha I applaud your creativity if that's your car up top.

No I am not that artistic; not my car :(

I like how they integrated the center brake light into the frown!
